Favorite holiday food (31 Days of Christmas)

31dayslogoAs the holidays start coming to an end, a lot of us begin to think about New Year’s resolutions…which usually include losing weight.  Over the holidays, I know I eat a lot more than normal.  Some of the foods my family traditionally fixes are coquito (Puerto Rican eggnog) you can find the recipe online. As well as pernil (roast pork) and other Hispanic dishes like potato salad.  And cookies…cannot forget the cookies! I love the holiday food and spending time with family.

What are some of YOUR favorites? Did you moderate or gorge out this year? Let me know and 1 lucky person will #win a signed sports pack.

Lechon asado a la varita, arroz con gandules, pasteles de masa, morcilla y arroz con dulce. I have been eating that all the holidays. That food taste soooo good. That is Christmas favorite food in my country. Until now I have added 8 pounds to my weight. :-)

I made several sugar-free treats this year, since I can’t eat sugar. Sadly, they are NOT fat-free, since I use tons of butter and cream (I want the treats to be filled with taste). So…I’m sure I’ve gained at least 5 pounds. *sigh* It’s depressing. Next year, I’ll stick to making the high-fat, high sugar treats, and keep temptation away. Yeah, sure I will.
