Giving Thanks for Family ***WINNER ANNOUNCED***

CONGRATS: Athena! I’ve emailed you!

Today we will focus on family. My family is my life. We are very close and love to spend time together. We especially love doing outings and now that I moved I miss them a lot. I am looking forward to seeing them next month so we can do some fun things again. My family is by no means perfect, but they are a great group of people who I love.

MillyFamily1

We all like having fun and doing things together.

MillyFamily2

Sometimes we don’t see each other for long periods of time but when we do, it’s like we haven’t been apart.

From close family to extended family to in-laws, I am thankful for them all.

MillyFamily3

And when we can, we always look for a reason to celebrate.

MillyFamily4

I am hopeful your family brings you joy too.

Every year my brother in law has a family reunion the weekend before the kids go back to school, With more food than should be normal, and all the people I never get to see because of life getting in the way. We try to go to Great America and have a blast. A group of 15 people can get loud, but we have lots of fun!

One of the favorite things I got to do with my family this year was walk on my 13 year old son’s team for the Omaha Austism Walk. Matthias headed our team he was supported by myself, his father- Randy, his twin-Abbey, 17 year old sister-Ambrosia,plus her boyfriend,my mother, my best friend and her year old son. Us walking proudly behind my son as he felt like a rock star was such an awesome experience. After the walk we got to play lots of games, the kids got to play on bouncy slides etc, we got to have a nice lunch an fill our bags with lots of cool promotional items that excited everyone. It was a perfect day , one free of the sometime hardships that make going out with my son hard on him and nearly impossible, since it was ran by the autism center they made it very autism friendly an easy on my sons senses without making it feel like it wasnt a normal event!!! https://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_heart.gifhttps://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif thanks for allowing me to share that day with you nowhttps://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_rose.gif

We love to sit around and talk with my husband’s family. We always have a great time doing that. It’s a way to catch up on what’s been going on with each other.

With my family, we have a great time sitting around and playing games. It’s non-stop laughter and the winner has a lot of fun bragging until the next round.

Thanks for the chance. That blanket would come in handy on these cold Ohio days and nights. :-)

Since my dad had all girls, we celebrate holidays on the eve. So, this week, I will have thanksgiving with my family Wednesday. We have a large meal, then we play games. Think of those “Minute to Win it” games (like shaking ping pong balls out of a box strapped around your waist) and compete to see who gets the shortest time. All of us get involved, from my 67 year old dad, to my 13 year old son. Shockingly enough, my dad is the record holder in a couple of games, and there are rivalries. Lots of laughs are shared and lots of catching up. These holidays are some of the only times we are all together, and since we are a blended family who don’t all live close, the only time we see each other. https://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif

We love to gather at one of our families homes make lots of food and exchange stores of our past, and it’s suprises us when one of us tells a tell of our past and we’re like where were we at and OMG I can’t believe we
are still alive. But we had some of the grearest times when we were younger, our families always got to gather, theses day it like no one has time any more, life theses days is always on the run wish we could go back to taking time to get togather more often. We try togather atless one every year, just because, we may not have another year, so we don’t say next year, we say make it now, and spread joy and happiness. There is always lots of food anyone one is welcome. I continuded that with my kid we get togather and even invite everyone we know, more times then I can count we had more people then could fit in our home so we would take it out side, I am always telling my children, it’s a hillbilly thing, and since we’re hillbillies we have to do the same as our families. :-)

My dad’s on OTR truck driver and is only home on weekends so when he gets home we like to make a nice dinner and then we will usually watch a tv show or a movie.

Sadly, right now I don’t get to spend time with my family like I’m used to. Living over 3 states away makes life difficult because I can’t just go and see them when I want. But any time we do get together we usually will sit and play games as a family. Growing up me and my dad always battled playing Scrabble and who could get the most points. It eventually would just come down to my siblings and mom just leaving the table to let us continue playing until we reached our max score.

I have two siblings. My older brother is 7 years older. He lives about 3 hours away from me. We are not close. He is very stoic and hard to relate to.

My sister is 19 months older. We are extremely close. We live about 2 hours apart. We talk on the phone at least once a week and get together every couple of months.

We help each other as needed. We are now in the process of sharing the care for our 91 year old mother.

When we get together as a family we like to go walking, biking, swimming, windsurfing or canoeing. We are a very active family This past summer we hiked the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Canyonlands, Arches National Parks and several alpine lake trails near Telluride, Ouray and Ridgway, Colorado. We surprised my husband with a family get together for his July 24th birthday at the True Grit Restaurant in Ridgway.

Otherwise, we play board games and card games like Sheepshead and Texas Hold Em.

My family gets together for any occasion whether it’s birthdays or holidays. My family believes that life is too short and loved ones can be taken too soon so spend time when you can for any reason at all. I have 2 daughters, 2 granddaughters, 5 brothers and sisters, and a slew of cousins and so on so when we get together it’s a party for all to be had! And I am thankful for every single one of them because I have a lot more than some even if I don’t have as much as others!https://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gifhttps://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_heart.gifhttps://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_rose.gifhttps://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yes.gifhttps://millytaiden.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wink.gif

We tend to just join around together telling jokes and stories about each other.

I grew up in a house where we would nightly have dinner and play a game. Sometimes it was a card game while others it was board games. It was awesome!

At our church every year we do a gingerbread house workshop. My whole family goes and spends the morning decorating gingerbread houses with our church family as well.

Family is the most important thing to me. My whole family gets together every Sunday for family dinner at my nanas house. Food, laughter and dominos are the things I look forward to every week.

Travel. I cruise once a year with my dad (and my mom before she died) and have traveled with a brother and my sister as well since we’ve been adults. We all believe in the go, go go, way of travel and visiting museums and historical sites. Traveling with non-family is less than successful. Though, my sister said her last visit to Disney with her boyfriend was the first time she hadn’t cried.

Every year my family and I make stockings that represent what we have done that year. We have at least a hundred that get hung up all along the walls every Christmas. The first was made for Christmas ’91

My family is crazy, we try to do a game night every so often but it gets hard with jobs and schools and personal life getting in the way but when we all get together OMG do things get crazy!! The jokes are flying we’re busting on everyone (even my mom cuz no ones safe in my family!) we start to openly cheat with each other against certain family members and since we’re not sneaking around about it everyone knows and makes jokes about it so no one can get mad or hurt about anything.

My families ‘family reunions’ are always fun. I miss out on quite a bit now that I have moved out of state as it’s almost as if I don’t exist anymore, however, I have my own beautiful little family right here that I would do anything for and we have a lot of fun together whether it’s just hanging out at home, at the neighbors house, driving around or going to the local animal sanctuary for the day.
